The Saints play their first preseason game tonight against the Vikings and we’ve got two rookies that you’ll want to keep an eye on for the night. Locked on Saints podcast host Ross Jackson says the sixth-round draft pick out of Rutgers, safety Saquan Hampton should get a ton of snaps after showcasing some incredible talent during impressive practice field performances.

Wide Receiver Emmanuel Butler recently made it back to the practice field for some walkthroughs and has been a summer standout at a number two receiver position that could be up for grabs. Jackson says he’ll have a chance to show off his versatility.

Les Miles opened up about the end of his tenure at LSU and the “heartbreak” of not getting his dream job as coach of the Michigan Wolverines. The Mad Hatter spoke with ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit about his time in coaching, and mentioned that even as far back as his National Championship winning year in 2007. While he pinned for the job though, he did add that the 2007 game allowed him to score a big win with LSU over hated rival Ohio.
Miles called LSU a “decent job” but he was beset by roadblocks that kept him from going north.
In the NFL Baker Mayfield of the Cleveland Browns threw a touchdown pass to end his only series. Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Never put on his helmet and the Browns gave a brief preview of their offensive firepower during a 30-10 drubbing over the Washington redskins last night. The patriots beat the Lions 31-3, The Ravens over the Jaguars 28-0, Buffalo smacked the colts 24-16.
Major League Baseball announced it is going to play a professional game in Iowa…at the same field the movie Field of Dreams was filmed at.
