51-year-old Daniel Ross of Monroe is in custody in an alleged fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of 15-year-old Neville High student Ashley Dorsey. Ross has been charged with negligent homicide and felony hit-and-run. Corporal Reggie Brown with the Monroe Police Department says they’ve received a full confession from Ross
Dorsey was riding her skateboard when she was hit on Tuesday night.
The Louisiana State Fair in Shreveport begins today and runs through November 10th. State Fair Marketing Manager Russell Adams says for the next few weeks they’ll have roughly 25 bands rotating through the grounds, rodeos, lumberjack shows, and a new addition that you’ve probably never seen before.
Attendees will also be treated to antique tractor pulls, a BB gun competition, and a car show.
In the wake of the Maxwell Gruver death on the LSU campus in 2017, the state-approved tougher anti-hazing laws and now there’s a bill in Congress that would require college officials to publicly share information about student organizations that have been disciplined for hazing. A sheriff’s deputy and teacher in Livingston Parish are in jail on child porn charges. 44-year-old Dennis Perkins and 34-year-old Cynthia Perkins, a teacher at Westside Junior High in Walker, are each facing 60 counts of producing child pornography and two counts of first-degree rape. Dennis Perkins has also been booked on two counts of video voyeurism.
