Baton Rouge Chef Jay Ducote of Gov’t Taco Beat Bobby Flay yesterday on the Food Network’s Beat Bobby Flay by challenging the world renown chef to a crawfish boil. The program as local chefs challenge Flay to a cook off, and a dish of their choice, and gives both contestants 45 minutes to make the dish. Here’s Ducote.

Ducote prepared a traditional boil, while Flay attempted crawfish tarragon buttered corn, crawfish mayo potato salad, with five minute boiled crawfish.

18-year-old Barron Semaj Bailey has been arrested in connection with the killing of a eight month pregnancy Minden women, 19-year-old NaToyedre Barrow, who was struck by one of the seven bullets that cut through her residence and killed her as she slept on the couch. Authorities say they’ve seized the assault rifle that they believe fired the bullet in the gang related incident. Bailey is facing one count of second degree murder, and first degree feticide.
