A Lafayette district judge has ruled that Louisiana’s ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. Judge Edward Rubin made his ruling in a lawsuit filed by a same-sex couple requesting the state recognize their marriage certificate from California. Legal analyst Tim Meche says he expects the judge or the Louisiana Supreme Court to stay the ruling…

Gas-Buddy Senior Petroleum Analyst, Gregg Laskoski, says an increase in domestic production of gasoline has pushed prices below three-dollars a gallon at many service stations in Louisiana…

Laskoski says the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline is $3.11.
According to a state funded feasibility study, tolls could fund up to half of a $3 billion project which would finish I-49 South from Lafayette to New Orleans. Those pushing for the completion of the interstate say the study show tolls, combined with federal and state monies could make the highway a reality. The study calculated figures assuming tolls start at 18-cents a mile and then rise to 25-cents a mile over 15 years.
