Louisianians are enjoying super low prices at the pump these days and analysts say you can expect to pay even less as the year goes on. Friday the current statewide average for a gallon of regular gas is $3.09 down two cents from the night before. Redman says there’s potential we could see prices the lowest they’ve been since 2010 when the average price in October was $2.68 cents a gallon.

The LSU Health tumor registry discovers colon cancer rates in the Acadiana parishes are among the highest in the United States. The study was led by Doctor Jordan Karlitz, who is also at the Tulane University of Medicine. He says their research focused on 18 parishes in the Acadiana area and colorectal cancer rates were statistically significantly higher than both Louisiana and US rates…:

Karltiz says colorectal cancer rates are also high in French speaking homes in Acadiana or those families with a Cajun ancestry, which raises the possibility of a genetic predisposition.
Police in Eunice are looking for a woman who robbed the State Bank and Trust with a fake bomb 4:30 pm Thursday. Cops say the burglar was wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap and placed a package she claimed was a bomb on the floor and told everyone it would explode if it was moved. LSP determined the package was not a bomb and they are asking the public’s help identifying the suspect.
