The LSU board of supervisors accepted a recommendation to award the medical marijuana project to Las Vegas-based GB Sciences Inc. When finalized, LSU Ag Center head Dr. Bill Richardson says it could mean $3.4 million over five years, or 10% of gross receipts, whichever is higher. He says they are still working through some financial arrangements…:

LSU and Southern University are the only institutions allowed to grow cannabis in the state.

With little discussion and no objections, the LSU board also approved an increase in student fees. The 5% hike would amount to about $270 per student, and the school hopes it would raise $14 million dollars to pay raises and cover other expenses. The TOPS program does not cover the fee increase which would go into effect in the fall.

Today at 2pm, LSU will take on No. 1 Oregon State in Omaha..and if the Tigers win they play an elimination game against The Beavers tomorrow. Alex Lange, a Chicago Cubs first-round draft pick is starting on the mound and hopes the Tigers can get off to a good start…:
