Senator John Kennedy says he is considering entering the 2023 race for governor and right after Kennedy made his intentions known the state Republican Party doubled down on its endorsement of attorney general Jeff Landry. The party issued a formal statement about Landry today even though news outlets reported the endorsement a week ago. Consultant Roy Fletcher says the party’s announcement was premature.

Shortly before one o’clock Sunday afternoon, the earth moved for folks in Blanchard. Geophysicist Paul Caruso with the US Geological Service confirms an earthquake took place in Caddo Parish, about 16 miles west-northwest of Shreveport.
This is the second earthquake in the area in just over a year and a half. In 2021 a 3.0 magnitude earthquake was reported on April Fools.
