Many around the Bayou State woke up to damage from severe weather overnight. Meteorologist Brandi Richardson says the National Weather Service Shreveport office has deployed tornado survey teams to Nachitoches, Caddo and northern DeSoto Parishes.

New Orleans Police say a teenager fatally shot a woman and injured her husband in an attempted car robbery in New Orleans last night. The woman was shot in the head, the man in the arm and the teen also suffered a gunshot wound. The suspect faces murder charges.
A constitutional amendment to exempt diapers and tampons from the state sales tax fails in the Senate, but the measure got a second chance at life before discussion wrapped for the day. Kevin Barnhart has the story.
