A 71-year-old jail inmate who started serving a prison term while still a teenager will get his first parole hearing early next year.   Henry Montgomery was sent to prison after killing an East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Deputy in 1963.  Recently the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that juveniles have not been given a chance to argue for their release after getting life sentences without possibility for parole.

A grand jury meets for the first time today to determine if 10 LSU fraternity members should be charged in connection with Maxwell Gruver’s suspected hazing death.
