Multiple reports say men’s basketball coach Will Wade is returning to LSU. Wade just completed his first season at North Carolina State, but Jim Gazzolo, who covered Wade at McNeese State for the American Press, says Wade looks at the opportunity to return to LSU as finishing the job…

Wade was the head coach at LSU for five seasons, leading the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament three times and an SEC Championship in 2019. He was fired in 2022 for committing NCAA recruiting violations. Wade’s return to LSU, means Matt McMahon’s four year run as the Tigers men’s basketball coach is over. He went 60-70 at LSU.

ULM introduced Ryan Cross as its new men’s basketball coach today as he returns to Monroe after serving as an assistant coach at UAB for six seasons. Before he was at UAB, Cross was an assistant coach at ULM for eight seasons.

Monroe Senator Stewart Cathey does not believe politicians should be able to run for a seat in the U-S House of Representatives if they do not live in the district they are seeking to represent. Cathey brought Senate Concurrent Resolution number nine up for debate in the Governmental Affairs committee…

Cut  9 (12) “…wanted”

The legislation is directed at Blake Miguez, who lives near New Iberia, but is seeking to represent a Congressional district that covers the Monroe and Baton Rouge areas. The Senate Governmental Affairs Committee reported the resolution without action, which technically kills the measure for the session.
