Governor Jeff Landry says he’s been told by President Donald Trump that National Guard troops will arrive in Louisiana in a couple of weeks. Guard deployments to other cities in the U-S have drawn criticism from Democratic politicians and others who say they are not needed and it only increases tension. In recent months, video of agents using aggressive tactics like boxing people in with their vehicles, smashing in windows and forcing people out of their vehicles has surfaced, but Attorney General Liz Murrill says those videos likely don’t tell the whole story.

New LSU football coach Lane Kiffin says he leaned on two national championship-winning coaches in making his decision to leave Ole Miss for LSU. Kiffin says he spoke with Nick Saban and Pete Carroll, and it was the former USC and current Las Vegas Raiders coach who really convinced him, along with others.
