East Baton Rouge authorities have ruled the death of an infant left in a hot car all day last month an accident. The parent told deputies they forgot to drop their six-month-old child at daycare in the morning and realized the terrible mistake when they went to the daycare facility after work. According to Rollins, these accidents often result from a combination of stress, fatigue, and changes in routine, which can disrupt normal memory processes.

Bienville Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested two people in Jamestown and removed 33 dogs from poor living in poor conditions. 32-year-old Tanya Michelle Griffith and 29-year-old Allen Tyler Meylian face 32 counts of cruelty to Animals. LDH is continuing a “do not use” water advisory for areas served by the Walnut Bayou Water System in Madison Parish after drinking water was exposed to the chemical paraquat last week. LDH continues to work closely with local officials throughout the sampling and testing process. Water can be picked up at the Walnut Bayou Water Association Office in Tallulah.
