The best out of three championship series against Florida begins Saturday.

The NCAA investigation into recruiting violations involving LSU’s men’s basketball and football programs is finally completed. Both programs have been put on a three-year probation, but no future postseason bans. TigerRag Editor Todd Horne says the conclusion of the investigation removes a dark cloud hanging over the head of current LSU Basketball Coach Matt McMahon.

The three-year probation for both teams begins in September.

Governor John Bel Edwards signed into law legislation that bans the use of the popular video-sharing app TikTok on government-issued devices and networks. Bill’s sponsor, Marksville Representative Daryl Deshotel says it’s a security issue.

The U-S government approved a ban on TikTok on federal government devices throughout all 50 states.

Governor Edwards also signed legislation that bans corporal punishment in public schools statewide unless parents give written consent. Metairie Representative Stephanie Hilferty says the Department of Education is tasked with creating a permission slip for schools.

The policy will go into effect in the 2023-2024 school year.
