Governor John Bel Edwards is urging Louisianans to prepare for the coldest weather of the season. An Artic outbreak will reach north Louisiana on Thursday and areas north of I-20 will stay below freezing for up to 60 hours. The cold front is also expected to deliver high winds, producing dangerously cold wind chills.

The LSU Ag Center has tips on how to handle outside plants that are not used to this extremely cold weather. Marsanne Golsby has more.

A Baton Rouge judge has reportedly tossed out a lawsuit filed by former LSU athletic executive Sharon Lewis who claimed she faced harassment and retaliation for reporting sexual harassment allegations made by LSU students. A judge has sentenced 54-year-old Meshell Hale of Baton Rouge to life in prison after she was convicted of poisoning her former live-in boyfriend 41-year-old Damian Skipper.
