We Ask America puts the Governor’s race run-off at a 47 to 47 percent dead heat between John Bel Edwards and Eddie Rispone. Pollster Andrew Weissert says Rispone’s campaign has to be happy with the results here. He says it didn’t take long for him to consolidate the GOP vote following the primary.

Rispone has a 49 percent favorability rating, and a 38 percent unfavorable rating with voters.

A man accused of shooting two people, including a police officer, on the Grambling State campus overnight is in custody. State Police Trooper Michael Reichardt says the suspect was arrested a shortly after the shooting, which happened at 1:30 in the morning

Reichardt says the officer’s injury is non-life threatening, while the other shooting victim has serious injuries at a Shreveport hospital.

The unveiling of a monument to Lynyrd Skynyrd takes place Sunday in Gillsberg, MS, the site of the band’s 1977 plane crash.  Sunday marks the anniversary and President of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Monument Project Skynyrd Bobby McDaniel says they will recognize those impacted by the crash, including five survivors.

Skynyrd was on top of the music world when the plane that was carrying the band from South Carolina to a concert at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge crashed in a swampy wooded area just about 50 miles short of their intended destination.

An Alabama student who allegedly called in a false bomb threat to Tiger Stadium has been released from East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on bond. Matt Doyle asked a legal analyst what to expect next…
