According to a recent analysis by Moody’s Investors Service, the oil and gas industry will continue to face cuts in 2016. They project companies like Royal Dutch Shell and Chevron could see cash flow shrink by as much 20-percent this year. A Denham Springs Marine who was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash during a training exercise in California will be received in New Orleans today. Cpl. Bryan Lauw’s body will be escorted to Denham Springs and is expected to arrive at 7 p.m. Friends and family would like the communities along the route to give Bryan a hero’s welcome. He was just 21.

State Police released August casino figures Thursday and found that Louisiana’s 15 boats, racetrack slots and Harrah’s land-based casino brought in 1.7 percent less revenue than the prior year. Reports show winnings in New Orleans dropped 8.5 percent while winning in Lake Charles is up 21.5 percent due to the addition of the Golden nugget. Shreveport-Bossier City was down 15.7 percent in August.
