The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office says a traffic stop has led to the arrest of a Bayou Vista man and a Houma woman on drug charges. Authorities say 27-year-old Brian Derouen and 28-year-old Theresa Trahan threw a gun, a bag of marijuana, and more than $7,500 worth of methamphetamine from their vehicle while trying to evade the stop. Drug paraphernalia was also found inside their vehicle. Derouen and Trahan are charged on several counts, including possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.
It looks like another wet weekend for Louisiana as a slow-moving cold front is going to bring a lot of rain across the entire state over the next few days.
