The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Vivian teenager accused of stabbing and injuring his parents. Authorities say 17-year-old Shane Alexander is charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder. Spokesperson Cindy Chadwick says Shane went into his parents’ bedroom at about 3AM this morning…:

She says his step-mother was stabbed in the chest and his father in the back and arm. A motive for the crime is not being released at this time.

Lawmakers are working to raise money that would go towards mitigating cuts to higher education and health care. The House has approved 664 million dollars so far including a cigarette tax increase but Governor Bobby Jindal says that will need to be offsent with a tax break somewhere

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s office arrests a woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death. They say 28-year-old Lisa Stewart was booked with second degree murder after 34-year-old George Taylor was found dead inside their home. Apparently Stewart told them she and the victim got into a fight after a night out drinking with friends.
