As the military, once again, looks to reduce the number of troops at the Fort Polk Army base, the Army is holding a meeting tonight to listen to concerns about the potential effects a troop reduction could have on the area. Eric Gill reports…:

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is working a fatal overnight fire in Opelousas. They say once fire fighters arrived the residence was completely engulfed in flames and later the 63-year-old female victim was located. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

The Shreveport Police Department says they are looking for a suspect following an overnight fatal home invasion attempt which claimed the life of the second robber apparently at the hands of the owner of the residence. Corporal Marcus Hines says officers were called to a home after a reported home invasion was called in around 1am…:

Hines says they believe drugs were the motive for the attempted robbery but the case remains a very active one as they search for the other suspect who got away.

The state Department of Revenue announces that tax refunds are now being issued. LDR said that it would not process refunds until March 2 but they actually began last Friday. Spokeswoman Kizzie Payton says the delay was due to the increase in fraudulent tax returns across the nation…:

She says, thus far, over 763,000 tax returns have been filed and about 244,000 have been processed.
