The Louisiana National Guard wants residents to know they are ready to help if needed as heavy rain continues to fall. Major General Glenn Curtis with the Louisiana National Guard says they are working closely with parish governments.

Flood victims are not completing the survey to receive federal assistance as quickly as state officials had expected. John Bel Edwards says so far only 23,000 people have submitted the survey. He advises people to do so quickly because the homeowners assistance program is in full swing.

Edwards says the first step to getting into the homeowner assistance program is to complete the survey at restore.la.gov.

The Tigers dominated last night eliminating Florida State with a 7 to 4 victory in the College World Series. Pitcher Jared Poche led LSU to the semifinal round with a record setting 39th career win allowing only four runs on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts. The Tigers will face Oregon State again on Friday at 2 after a tough loss to the Beavers on Monday night.
