The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s office reports a 26-year-old A.A.U. basketball coach is under arrest for allegedly sending explicit pictures and text messages to a female juvenile. The victim’s family contacted deputies and after an investigation they booked Adrian Steib Jr. on charges of computer aided solicitation of a minor and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

There’s a bill on Governor Bobby Jindal’s desk which would put into law a provision allowing cops equipment on patrol cars to scan someone’s license plate as a way to catch uninsured motorists.

Pete Adams, executive director of the Louisiana District Attorneys Association, says the photo of the license plate will only be used to catch uninsured motorists, track down stolen vehicles and help authorities in emergency situations.
