The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office says a 17-year-old girl is dead after a tree fell on her car near Plaisance. They say Gabrielle Lajack was sitting in a parked car in her driveway when the incident occurred. Lajack was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Landry Parish Coroner.

New Orleans Police say a man is dead after his truck crashed through a parking garage cable barrier, crashed through a calss window and fell to the street. Paul Colce, an eyewitness, says he was standing at Camp and Poydras streets when he heard the sound of glass breaking…:

The driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into what happened is ongoing.

The Sterlington Police Department arrests a man for allegedly setting his pregnant girlfriend on fire, causing severe burns and resulting in the woman losing the baby due to the stress. Chief Barry Bonner says 23-year-old Darren Lambert is charged with aggravated domestic abuse involving burning which is a new statute that DA Jerry Jones helped establish along with Monroe Senator Bob Kostelka..:
