The latest update from The National Hurricane Center shows Danny has become the first hurricane of the 2015 season. They say the storm now has maximum sustained winds of 75 miles per hour and is moving west north west at about 12 miles per hour. The updated model shows Hurricane Danny moving over the Lesser Antilles Monday morning then Puerto Rico Tuesday morning.

The state Department of Health and Hospitals confirms there have so far been a total of 20 cases of the West Nile virus this summer. They say of the cases we’ve seen this year, 10 have been neuroinvasive, two have been West Nile fever and eight have been asymptomatic. Health officials urge adults and children to wear mosquito repellent at all times while outdoors.

The Desoto Parish Sheriff’s office says a 15-year-old boy is under arrest in connection with the stabbing death of his aunt. Sheriff Rodney Arbuckle says officers received a call about a woman suffering from injuries had driven herself to a relative’s house. He says that’s where they found Yolanda Hunter…:

He says the teen nephew confessed and told deputies the devil told him to do it. Hunter was pronounced dead at a hospital. The juvenile suspect is charged with second degree murder.
