After 9-11 , former Governor Mike Foster started the “Bucks for Trucks” campaign, where Louisianans donated money to purchase a new truck for the New York City Fire Department. Enough money was raised to build four firetrucks at Ferrera Fire Apparatus in Livingston Parish. Former owner, Chris Ferrera, says all of the trucks are still in use 16 years later…:

The fourth truck is being used by the State Fire Marshal’s office in Baton Rouge.
Kaplan Police Chief Boyd Adams has posted bail since he was arrested by State Police on theft and malfeasance in office charges. The arrest was the result of a legislative auditor’s investigation that looked into 19-thousand dollars in police department funds. Auditor Roger Harris….

Harris says they believe Adams used about seven-thousand dollars in public money for personal purposes.
The Shreveport City Council this afternoon will consider whether the city should move forward on a proposed 100-million dollar mixed-used complex along Cross Bayou. The mayor has pledged to commit 30-million dollars and Tyler Comeaux says the city can handle that investment…
