State Fire Marshal Butch Browning is commemorating the anniversary of 9/11 by seeking donations to construct a museum to house the Spirit of Louisiana fire truck that was built by donations and sent to New York following the attacks.
The museum will be built next to a 9/11 memorial at the Fire Marshall’s office in Baton Rouge
Parents who have lost their driver’s license due to back child support payments only have three weeks left to correct the issue as part of the “On the Road Again” project. Department of Children and Families Regional Administrator for Child Support Enforcement Sandra Broussard says so far, the project has resulted in 140 people getting their license back.

According to the National Hurricane Center there’s a system in the Atlantic they are watching with a 60 percent chance of developing into a tropical depression in the next five days. If so it looks like it will move across South Florida and possibly into the Gulf. Regardless of its development, it will produce heavy rainfall and gusty winds across the Dorian battered Bahamas tomorrow and across Florida this weekend.
