State Police is investigating an officer involved shooting in West Monroe. Authorities say a driver was fatally shot by a Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s deputy around 5:30 yesterday afternoon on Guyton Road. The shooting occurred during a traffic stop and no one else was injured.

The three candidates running for Public Service Commission for the district that includes Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Houma appeared at a forum yesterday. Former state representative Lenar Whitney says she’s the most conservative candidate in the race and says Louisiana needs to keep its low rates…
