The two candidates in the State Treasurer’s runoff face the challenge of getting people out to vote in the November 18 election.  Just over 13 percent participated in the October 14 election.  If elected, candidate former state Representative John Schroder says he will push for smaller government.

The Louisiana Democratic Party has given full support by endorsing Schroder’s opponent, Derrick Edwards.

The Louisiana Republican congressional delegation believes tax reform legislation can be passed this year. Senior Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy says no matter how the tax reform package passes, getting it done quick is of up most importance to Republicans…

Nuclear armed B-52 bombers at Barksdale Air Force base are reportedly on full alert for the first time since 1991.  It’s due to escalating tensions in North Korea. Barksdale is home of the 2nd Degree Bomb Wing and Air Force Global Strike Command.  B-52s are capable of carrying a variety of weapons and flying up to 50,000-feet in the air.

This past weekend’s cold front has brought even cooler temperatures to Louisiana.  State Climatologist Barry Keim says this is just the start to what will be a relief from the above normal temperatures we saw last week…
