Both parties made their final pleas to voters last night ahead of today’s primary. President Trump was in Lake Charles to rally Republicans. Incumbent Democrat Governor Edwards who’s been invited to the White House on numerous occasions says he has a good working relationship with the President, but Trump says Edwards is duplicitous…

Edwards admitted earlier in the campaign that Trump attempted to persuade him to switch parties. Edwards says his administration’s work helping the state recover from the Jindal years, is why he should be reelected.

 

Cut 15 (07) “…is yes.”

Edwards faces republicans Congressman Ralph Abraham and Businessman Eddie Rispone. If none of the candidates crack 50 percent of the vote, a run-off will be November 16th.

In addition to the governor’s race and other elections, the October 12th ballot has four proposed constitutional amendments. Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana Policy Director Steve Procopio (Pro-soap-pee-oh) advises voters to do their homework before they enter the voting booth…

Most of the state will have their eyes and ears focused on the game and election results tonight.  The 5th ranked LSU Tigers take on the 7th ranked Florida Gators in an SEC showdown. While LSU leads the country in scoring, averaging 55 points per game, Quarterback Joe Burrow says for the Tigers to put a bunch of points on the scoreboard tonight, they need to take advantage of their scoring opportunities….
