Baton Rouge police are investigating a tragic case of a one-year-old boy who died Monday with fentanyl in his system, according to the coroner’s office. WAFB TV reports the child was initially taken to a clinic in Baton Rouge, abandoned, and pronounced dead at a hospital. The Baton Rouge TV station also reports DCFS told them the child was the subject of an open investigation that fell through the cracks.

10th-ranked LSU is a 12.5-point underdog on Saturday night against sixth-ranked Alabama.

Louisiana’s Celebration Gator, the 60-foot-long gator float that premiered at last year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will be back for a repeat performance. Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser says if the sight of the longest float in the parade, crawling down the street. isn’t enough to get the crowd’s attention, Grammy winner Trombone Shorty will be along for the ride.
