Governor Edwards says fishing industry Louisiana has been hit with $258 million in losses due to historic flooding this year. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries conducted an economic impact analysis to determine the flooding impacts. In Louisiana, poultry is a $2 billion industry and the decision opens the market for Louisiana producers as the port of New Orleans is one of the largest poultry exporters in America.
