Shreveport Police held a briefing Tuesday after a lengthy standoff Monday that ended with what authorities believe is the suspect’s charred remains found inside a Crook Creek home. Police Chief Wayne Smith says among the shooting victims was a 13-year-old girl who was hiding in the home. Smith praised the three officers who entered the home amid gunfire to save her.

Names of those involved have not been released and the teen and a neighbor who was also shot are expected to make a full recovery.

Natchitoches Police are asking for help in locating 19-year-old Matthew Robinson. Robinson is the suspected gunman in the shooting death of 35-year-old Michael Porter. The incident happened early Tuesday morning at Motel 6 on the Highway 1 Bypass. Robinson faces second-degree murder charges.
