According to a Universal Drugstore survey, Louisiana ranks fourth nation for smoking, drinking, illicit drug use, and e-cigarettes. The percentage of excessive drinkers is 22 percent, more than one million residents.  When you look at the numbers by parish Lafourche topped the list with 24%, followed by Livingston at 23 percent.

Deer hunters in northeast Louisiana are urged to bring the head of any deer they harvest to one of 13 collection points after cases of chronic wasting disease (CWD) have been confirmed. LDWF Deer Program Manager Johnathan Bordelon says 14 positive cases have been detected in Tensas Parish.
