Three weeks left in the legislative session and the Louisiana Senate has yet to take up one of the session’s marquee bills. A measure that would result in a constitutional convention held in August. Senate President Cameron Henry says the House amended the bill so that there will be convention committee hearings in June and July….

Meanwhile, there’s some good news for Louisiana Crawfish farmers who will now be covered under the Emergency Livestock Assistance Program which means the USDA Farm Service Agency will offer them disaster grants because of the low production they’ve endured as a result of last summer’s drought. The Revenue Estimating Conference has recognized an additional $88 million for the next fiscal year budget which is good news for teachers. Colleen Crain explains.

Most of the southern half of the state is under a flash flood watch until tomorrow morning. The National Weather Service says two of five inches has already fallen over parts of central Louisiana and another two to four inches could fall over the next 24 hours.
