The state department of transportation announces the right lane on Interstate 10 near the Whiskey Bay exit on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge will remain closed through Monday because emergency repairs are needed on a damaged section of the bridge deck. Delays are possible.
Governor John Bel Edwards is not sure what will happen now that a federal appeals court has ordered the Louisiana Legislature to redraw a Congressional map that has two majority-minority districts. The court gave a January 15th deadline. Edwards could call a special session, but legislative leaders are willing to allow the next legislature to handle it.
