Music’s biggest night takes place this weekend as the 61st GRAMMY Awards takes place in Los Angeles.  Many Louisiana artists have been nominated throughout the years and this year is no different.  Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser says Louisiana has teamed up with Memphis and Mississippi to highlight artists from the region in an event tonight in LA known as “The Night on the River”

There have been over 600 wrecks in construction zones on I-10 between Lafayette and Baton Rouge since the beginning of construction in the area in May of 2017.  DOTD spokesperson Rodney Mallett says a large share of the responsibility for the high frequency falls onto drivers who are speeding and/or driving distracted.

New Orleans Saints defender David Onyemata was given a misdemeanor citation by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s accusing him of illegally possessing marijuana in his Elmwood apartment.  Investigators obtained a search warrant and found marijuana, cannabis oil, marijuana edibles and hemp powder the Tuesday of the search. Onyemata, was cooperative with investigators and received a summons to appear in court at a later date.
