Edwards, Republicans Scott Angelle and Jay Dardenne attended a debate last night at LSU. Angelle made some waves with comments referring to Vitter’s prostitution scandal and urging the live TV audience to visit a website with a video of a woman claiming the US Senator paid her for sex in the 90s. Polls are open Saturday between 7am and 8pm.
The US Department of Ag and Forestry says 41 parishes in Louisiana are in such horrible drought that farmers and ranchers are eligible for disaster aid. Those qualified have eight months to apply for low-interest emergency loans from the Farm Service Agency.
The Louisiana State Fair, now in it’s 109th year, gets underway today in Shreveport. President and Grand Marshal Chris Giordano says this year the fair is bringing back the Red River State Fair Classic football game, which features Grambling State and Texas Southern on November 7th…:

The Port of Iberia is about to get a much needed job boost as two massive companies announce plans to begin projects there. President of the Iberia Industrial Development Foundation Mike Tarintino says Primoris Services Corp. and Dynamic Industries are now seeking about 600 new employees to get started. He says other companies already at the port are expanding and looking for people to fill new positions…:
