Searchers are facing rough conditions on Lake Pontchartrain this morning as they continue to look for two people authorities say were aboard a small plane that went down last night. Coast Guard officials say crews found some debris but cannot confirm that debris belongs to the plane. Authorities say the plane was last spotted on radar about one mile northeast of Lakefront Airport. The flight was reportedly a student instructor flight.

“MAB-CHMINACA”, a new component in synthetic marijuana is believed to be responsible for sending more teenagers to the hospital in Louisiana. This new compound has been banned by the state and Louisiana Poison Control Executive Director Mark Ryan says it’s caused some users to be sent to the intensive care unit so it deserved quick action to regulate. He says in some cases these people have had their heart rate drop dramatically…

A large portion of Louisiana is under freeze warnings tonight and Mike Efferson, with the National Weather Service in Slidell, says temperatures will be 20 to 25 degrees below normal heading into the weekend. He says there is a chance of rain coming in Saturday night…
