Higher ed leaders met at the governor’s mansion to discuss the anti-hazing policies in place on college campuses. Governor John Bel Edwards says there are rules in place, but seem to not be taken seriously:

Authorities are refuting a WBRZ-TV report that a 13-year-old child was raped by an inmate in a bathroom during last month’s Angola Rodeo. West Feliciana Sheriff Austin Daniel says they are not sure why the two were in bathroom together, but there is no evidence that sexual contact occurred…:

The DOC is reviewing policies surrounding the annual Angola Rodeo.

Tomorrow is the last day to early vote for the November 18th election and locations are closed today in observance of Veteran’s Day. Secretary of State Tom Schedler says in the last days of early voting, the number of residents who cast a ballot exceeded his original expectation of around 10-percent…:

Voters can cast ballots tomorrow from 8:30am to 6pm.

Eight distinguished LSU alumni will be inducted into the LSU Military Hall of Honor during LSU Salutes 2017 this afternoon. Governor John Bel Edwards is among the inductees.

Beloved former Miss Louisiana Barbara Rivers of Monroe died has died after a short illness. She was 83. Rivers won the 1952 Miss Louisiana title as Barbara Barker and finished in the Top 10 of the Miss America pageant.
