Tropical Storm Cindy made landfall in Cameron Parish in southwest Louisiana early this morning and is expected to weaken as it moves farther inland throughout the day. A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through tomorrow morning, and a Tornado Watch until 1 p.m. for much of the state. Forecasters now say that the biggest rain threat looks to occur over the western half of the state and northwest and northeast Louisiana.

2016 Flood victims are not completing the survey to get federal assistance as quickly as state officials had hoped. Governor John Bel Edwards says only 26,000 people have completed the survey so far. The site is restore.la.gov, but Edwards says there are other options…:

He says the first step to getting into the homeowner assistance program is completing the survey, and adds this is separate from FEMA.

In the College World Series, LSU picked up a dominating 7-4 victory over Florida State last night in an elimination game. A Houghton woman is under arrest accused of trying to kill her husband by slashing his throat during a drunken and drug infused argument. 27-yer-old Adrianne Warren is charged with attempted 2nd degree murder. Bossier officials say bond for Warren was set at $160,000.
