State Police say an officer involved shooting Monday in Houma has left a 45-year-old theft suspect dead. They say during a pursuit, a tire deflation device was used to stop the man’s vehicle. When the suspect emerged, he pointed a gun at police officers who then shot him. The suspect’s identity has not been released. This is the third officer involved shooting in Louisiana in as many days.

The Louisiana Republican Party is expected to announce their endorsement of former Congressman Jeff Landry over incumbent and fellow Republican Buddy Caldwell in this year’s Attorney General’s race.
