Lafayette authorities have identified the shooter in last night’s deadly shooting inside a Lafayette movie theatre that left three dead and nine others injured. Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft says one of the deceased is the shooter, 59-year-old John Russel Houser of Phenix City, Alabama…

The two deceased victims have been identified as 21-year-old Mayci Breaux of Franklin and 33-year-old Jillian Johnson of Lafayette. They say Houser was estranged from his family and had been staying in a local hotel since early July. Police are seeking the public’s help in trying to find out more about Houser. Governor Bobby Jindal praises the action of first responders…

Authorities still have found no motive for the shooting.

West Monroe Police say a young girl has drowned in the Ouachita River. They say four girls were in the water along Lazarre Park. Authorities say two of the girls were able to make it to shore and a third girl was rescued by a passing boater. Unfortunately, one of the girls went under the water. The name nor the age of the deceased has not been released.
