Baton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden has scheduled a press conference tomorrow morning to make a special announcement. It is expected that Holden will announce his candidacy for Lieutenant Governor in next year’s election. State Senator Elbert Guillory, Jefferson Parish President John Young, and Plauemines Parish President Billy Nungesser have already declared their intent to run for the office.
Former Governor Edwin Edwards will be releasing another book next year and this one will be loaded with pictures. Biographer Leo Honeycutt says they will begin working on the project next year and he’ll push to have it out by the end of the summer/early fall. He says the Edwards picture book will also be another Louisiana political history book…

The Duck Commander Independence Bowl in Shreveport will see South Carolina taking on Miami December 27th. Independence Bowl Public Relations Director, Stefan Nolet, says there will be many activities surrounding the game for fans of all ages to enjoy.
