Political pundits are considering how the presidential race might affect the US Senate election in Louisiana. UL-Lafayette Political Science Professor Pearson Cross expects the GOP candidates in the race will stay away from supporting Donald Trump as his numbers continue to drop in polls:

Many Parishes spanning parts of northwest Louisiana to the Monroe area are under a heat advisory until 7pm this evening. The National Weather Service says humidity levels and hot temperatures could generate a heat index between 105 to 110 once again this afternoon.

The Causeway bridge is completely shut down in both directions Monday morning because of reports of a vehicle that went over the side in Lake Pontchartrain.
