Shreveport Police say they believe they know the identity of the gunman who killed a Shreveport police officer last night. A department spokesperson says the officer was responding to a call about an armed, suspicious person threatening people inside a home when the suspect opened fire, hitting the officer several times. The officer was pronounced dead at a local hospital. A manhunt for the suspect is ongoing.

The Louisiana AARP is hosting a forum today in Baton Rouge but one gubernatorial candidate will not be attending. Scott Carwile has more….

Governor Bobby Jindal is in Cleveland today preparing for the second tier Republican Presidential debate. Political Analyst Bernie Pinsonat says the smaller debate is still an opportunity for Jindal to get good national exposure. He says the trick is that Jindal will need to mention topics that catch people’s attention and get him remembered…

According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, a 23-year-old man was arrested after driving through two fences and on to the runway at the Louis Armstrong airport in New Orleans. Colonel John Fortunato says they sent officers to the scene after a report that there was a vehicle on a live runway…
