The incident was caught on video inside an East Feliciana Parish gas station last month.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office says a house fire in Beauregard Parish has claimed the life of a Deridder man. They say 52-year-old Paul Ashworth was found dead in the bedroom of his home. Authorities say the fire started on the bed before spreading further into the house. They believe unsafe smoking practices played a role in the blaze. The investigation is ongoing.
