The Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Pineville man after he broke into a home and fell asleep. Authorities say when the homeowner arrived, they found the lock to the door broken, an axe handle lying nearby, and someone sleeping on their couch. When officers arrived they found 25-year-old Trenton Malone still alseep on the sofa with a glass pipe beside him. Malone is charged with unauthorized entry into an inhabited dwelling, simple damage to property, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to an LSU Public Policy Polling survey done for the state’s film industry, 80% of Louisianians agree it’s good for the economy to have movies made here. Baton Rouge’s Celtic Studios Executive Director Patrick Mulhearn says Louisiana has been nicknamed Hollywood South and he believes people like that…

48% of those polled said they had a positive opinion of the state’s film tax credit program.

State Police has shared a heartwarming story about their rescue of an injured dog who was spotted in a swamp under I-10 near I-55 in LaPlace. Trooper Melissa Matey says Captain Brandon with Cajun Pride Swamp Tours offered to help out but realized that it wasn’t possible to get a boat to the dog’s location. She says the swamp tour guide then walked about a half a mile through the swamp to get to the animal…
