State Police say a single vehicle crash in Avoyelles Parish has killed a pedestrian. They say 50-year-old Annette B. Smith of Marksville was jogging on the side of the road with traffic when she was struck by a pickup truck. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was uninjured. Routine toxicology tests are pending and the crash investigation is ongoing.

It’s reported that Saints quarterback Drew Brees suffered a bruised rotator cuff in Sundays loss to Tampa Bay, but head coach Sean Payton remains confident that Brees will not miss much playing time. But, Saints sideline reporter Kristian Garic says the Saints are already off to an 0-and-2 start and could be in a bigger hole, if Brees can’t play for a couple of weeks…
