US Representative Vance McAllister has reportedly put his chief of staff on temporary leave after being booked with a DWI last weekend. The Congressman says Adam Terry was arrested in Richland Parish.

LSU now has one of the largest freshman classes in the university’s history and overall enrollment stands at 30,451.

A new poll conducted by Fox News shows Republican US-Senate candidate Bill Cassidy with a substantial lead over the incumbent Democrat Mary Landrieu in a head-to-head matchup. Well the survey showing Landrieu with just 38% is raising eyebrows. ULM Political Science Professor Joshua Stockley says so many other polls on this race show Landrieu in the mid to upper 40s..:

The potential runoff in the poll shows Cassidy with 51% of the vote and Stockley says no other survey done on this race indicates he’s got that much support.

The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s office says they are looking for a Hessmer man they believe shot his wife yesterday. They say 48-year-old Scott Daigrepont allegedly shot through a car with a 12-gauge shotgun when his wife, 45-year-old Kelly Daigrepont was hit. She was transported to a local hospital and her condition is unknown. The suspect remains at large.
