Governor John Bel Edwards will be heading back to Washington, DC this week to meet with congressional leaders about getting more aid to Louisiana. He sent another letter to the White House asking for an additional $800 million dollars, on top of the $2 billion he was originally seeking. The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Deputy who was critically injured in the July ambush on police officers is headed to The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research in Houston, according to his father. Deputy Nick Tullier was one of six officers who were shot during an ambush shooting on Sunday, July 17. James Tullier said they heard back late Monday evening from TIRR saying they would happily take Nick.
