The New Orleans Police Department is grieving this morning after one of their officers was killed overnight in the line of duty. The name of the officer had not been released at this time at the request of the family. Officials say the suspect was also shot and injured and will be charged after being treated.
Tomorrow is Election Day and Secretary of State Tom Scheduler doesn’t think turnout will be great. He says Orleans Parish might be higher, as New Orleans has a big mayoral election…:

Local Boy Scout officials react to the decision that girls will now be allowed to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. Executive Director of the Boy Scouts of Southeast Louisiana Ernesto Carballo says many people don’t know that girls are already included in many Boy Scout programs. He says now parents won’t have to run between meetings for their daughters and sons:

The Monroe children’s television star known as Mr. Wonder will have his day in court in February. Frank John Selas the Third, is facing child molestation charges from allegations that stem from a Rapides Parish camping trip in 1979. Selas’ Attorney Mike Small wanted an earlier trial:
